Announcement & Mix: If this town is just an apple, then let me take a Bite

Relocating (duh!); this weekend is the Big Move to Astoria. Don't know when I'll be back on as I am not completely sure of the interweb situation. I will assure all of you's that the next time I post, yours truly will be a genuine New Yorker. Born and raised in New York, yes, but one isn't a New Yorker til they've roughed it in the Apple.

Feeling ten million things at the moment. Still having ten million things to pack/throw way/donate.

The Magnetic Fields -- I Don't Want To Get Over You

Wreckless Eric -- Whole Wide World

RZA feat. Inspectah Deck -- U Can't Stop Me Now

The Wombats -- Moving to New York

Well, I've walked two hundred miles, now look me over [100th Post!]

A G-d among men (& Love of my life) is celebrating their Birfday today. 67 years in this crazy world, and he's still kickin', tickin', and rockin'. Yes, kiddies my hero Robert Allen Zimmerman Bob Dylan, is today's Birfday Boy (as well as center of Revolution Muzak's 100th Post). Two reasons to celebrate, HUZZAH!

Bob Dylan -- One More Cup of Coffee

Bob Dylan -- Every Grain of Sand

Bob Dylan -- Ring Them Bells

Bob Dylan -- Absolutely Sweet Marie

Bob Dylan -- Do Right To Me Baby (Do Unto Others)

Bob Dylan -- All I Really Wanna Do

Bob Dylan -- No Time To Think

Bob Dylan -- She Belongs To Me

Bob Dylan -- Maybe Someday

Bob Dylan -- Spirit on the Water

Bob Dylan & The Band -- Forever Young

I know I've been absent as of late, and this 100th post should have been celebrated weeks ago, but give a workin' girl a break, will ya! Anywho, Here's to many more musical masturbations, ramblings, and sharegasms. I've enjoyed running this music blog of disarray, and I hope the whole two of you's that keep up with it, have enjoyed it too. Here's to many more posts! Cheers!

Mix: Packing is the Devil

To motivate myself, a little mix. My deposit and first month's rent sent out: 8 days til the move, & I am still not packed. Having not enough time for the epic task, does indeed present a large part of the problem, but another portion of it is also due to my unwillingness to leave shit behind. Books, movies, records--I NEED them with me. Psssh, I feel a third grade tantrum coming on. Weeding through my movies, weighing Adam Sandler's Bulletproof against West Side Story--toss the former into the "Yard Sale" Box, and pack the latter into the trunk. Decisions, decisions. Books, my sunny-day companions, being packed on a Need basis--which ones I NEED (am willing) to carry up 4 flights of stairs. Gah. Those Harry Potter bitches have it so easy...

The Weakerthans -- Sun in An Empty Room

Aesop Rock -- Five Fingers

Daft Punk -- Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

The Flaming Lips -- Guy Who Got a Headache and Saved the World

Hot Chip -- Colours

The Lovemakers -- Prepare For The Fight

The Walls -- To the Bright and Shining Sun

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours

Ok, I know what you're thinking: bitch again disappears on us, and then is posting about Baz Luhrmann's Australia on her music blog. Yes, but I tell you: there is a segway. Luhrmann, not only responsible for directing some kick-ass movies, put out a kick ass song a few years back (OK, more like 10ish), a song that is probably one of my all-time favourites: "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)."

Originally appearing as a column in the Chicago Tribune as "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young" written by Mary Schmich, became a hit when directorial genius, Baz Luhrmann set the column to music. Packed with indispensable "ramblings" and remixed against Quindon Tarver's "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)," one can't help but feel sunshine when they hear it. Also, the advice dispensed throughout isn't half bad.

Baz Luhrmann -- Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

Sidebar: Not music related, but consider this something like a small game of Six Degrees, Baz Luhrmann put out "Everyboy's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)" and he also has directed movies, like the upcoming Australia. Hot teaser trailer for Luhrmann's upcoming epic: Australia

Two more posts 'til my 100th--HUZZAH!

MSTRKRFT Remixes Usher (Among Others)

Ok, ok, ok! I've already been kinda diggin' on the Usher track, "Love in the Club," but it wasn't until my ears met the MSTRKRFT remix of the song, that I absolutely fell head over heels in love. MSTRKRFT are pretty adept remix artists (check out more of 'em below), but wowza! I think the boys just outdid themselves. The blending of Usher's vocals with MSTRKRFT's trademark grunge-disco-supergalactic beats is so smooth, that it is downright sickening. Especially with the grungy-'lectro-piana melody breakdown at the halfpoint, it's perfection in a four minute package. I honestly can not get enough of this remix. Even though I love me some MSTRKRFT on a regular basis, I have got to say that my heart has a softer spot for their remixes.

Usher -- Love in This Club (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Juliette & The Licks -- Got a Love to Kill (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Fergie -- Fergalicious (MSTRKRFT Remix) [MSTRKRFT really can save anything]

Metric -- Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Chromeo -- Tenderoni (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Space Cowboy -- Running Away (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Also, apologies on disappearing for nearly two weeks, with sunshine comes funtimes!
